📓 Devlog – Field Assignments, Tactics Classes, and Polishing Up Systems

Hey everyone!

It’s been a busy stretch working on A Demon Hunter's Guide to Passing Finals, and I wanted to share some of the progress I've made since my last Devlog.

📜 New Content Update: Quests & Class!

This update comes with a host of new database entries, in addition I've added a handful of new quests to A Demon Hunter's Guide to Passing Finals, expanding both story depth and player choice. These include new optional objectives tied to side characters and world events that add flavor—and a few surprises—to your demon-slaying semester.

🔥 Field Assignment Event Polished

The field assignment where you and your classmates hunt down a fire-type demon has been fully implemented and playtested. This segment now includes new dialogue, battle balance adjustments, and a proper follow-up in the classroom that feels more earned and less rushed.
Example of improved dialogue from the end of the scene:

“You faced fire and came back stronger. That’s all I can ask for. Class dismissed.”
It now reflects the effort and danger involved while staying true to the teacher’s no-nonsense demeanor.

🛠️ Battle Tactics Class Cutscene Expanded

I’ve added more flavor to the classroom segments, especially after major missions. These segments now better reflect your performance, giving a stronger sense of progression and recognition. These classes are more than fluff—they’re key to worldbuilding and character development.

💰 Currency System Improvements

The dual-currency system (Gold + Draelen) has been refined. Variables now track stored, deposited, and withdrawn Draelen separately, and I’ve begun testing interactions with NPCs and chests that use this system.

🧪 Items & Crafting Pass #2

I’ve started organizing and naming key items, potion ingredients, and crafting materials more clearly, and began balancing forgeable equipment with consistent ingredient patterns (1–2 metals, 4 ingredients total). Expect more recipes and clearer item roles in the next update.

🃏 Card Minigame: Internal Testing

I’ve finalized the core rules for the monster card minigame (20-card decks, shot limits, support cards). Monster assets are being generated now, and I’ll soon move on to support card effects and booster pack balancing.
